We're Off and Running with Ruth

Wednesday, July 6, marked the opening of our new study, RUTH: Loss, Love, & Legacy. We did a background study on the book, and set out to accomplish two weeks of homework (gee, thanks, Drenda) before our next meeting, July 13.

Barbara Griffin has volunteered to be our prayer chairman. Please get your e-mails to her.

So what's the purpose of this blog? Here, you can check out summaries of the week's study and share thoughts on our discussions or your homework. This will be especially helpful if you have to miss a week.

Quick housekeeping note: We have changed our location to room 350. It's the room closest to the bathrooms. Now what woman can't appreciate that? :-)

  2. Hi girls
I hope you are enjoying this week as much as me !
I have really marveled at how God worked all out for the good and for his ultimate glory.
Remember to look into the words Ga'al and kinsman Redeemer.
There is a lot going on in this little book. I love that the two books in the Bible that are about women, are short ,but if you take the time to study God has packed them full of the "rest of the story".
Have a fabulous week see you very soon...

  4. Drenda mentioned this in class one week and I thought it was worth sharing again. It's the Cycle of a Christian's Life
-Blessings through grace (they are undeserved)
-Ingratitude (we forget to thank God for our blessings)
-Idolatry (we look for other things to make us happy)
-Discipline (we experience hardships in our life to restore our faith)
-Helplessness (we cry out to God for help)
-Deliverance (God removed the hardships and gives us blessings)

The cycle never changes but we can stay in some stages longer than others by our actions
